Cranberry Citrus Vodkarita

April 16, 2022 By Lindsey Leave a Comment [Yum ]

Ketel One Grapefruit and Rose Vodka, cranberry juice, lime, and agave are shaken to perfection! This simple but delicious “vodkarita” cocktail reminds me of a pomegranate margarita but with a twist.

Hi friends! It’s me, Lindsey, your friendly and very infrequent blog poster. I still think about the days when I launched this blog and thought I’d post a couple times per week. Ha! Now I’m not even reaching my goal of once per month because… life, work, busy schedules, excuses. I really haven’t done much “fun” cooking recently, and mostly do “survival” meal prep cooking on Sunday. I then eat that prepped food in different forms throughout the week. Maybe I should do meal prep posts since that’s more frequently in my life right now? Anyway, you know what else is more frequently in my life? Alcohol.

2021 – the year of the cocktails

Last year my husband and I really started building up our at-home bar. This was partially because we spent so much time at home, but we also enjoy a nice cocktail on the weekends. We also wanted to have some go-to creations we could whip up at any time for guests (so impressive!). Some of our favorite drinks include gin and tonics, moscow mules, and a corpse reviver no 2 (thank you Uncle Lyle!). When we do go out for drinks, I seek out something unique since some drinks I can make just as good at home. Which brings me to…

This Cranberry Citrus Vodkarita

I first discovered this drink at Public House 131 and it was so delicious I sought out the exact same ingredients just a few weeks later to recreate at home. The cranberry, lime, and grapefruit definitely make for a tart cocktail, but you can sweeten it up with additional agave if you prefer. This has been my go-to cocktail for the past 6 weeks so I knew I had to share it on the blog.

Ingredients

-Cranberry Juice – go for the 100% juice if you can find it (look at the ingredients). This is for maximum cranberry flavor that hasn’t been watered down.

-Ketel One Grapefruit and Rose Vodka – This has a strong grapefruit scent (I don’t notice any rose). It can be found at most stores with a decent liquor selection. Oddly enough, I found mine at Smart and Final but I’ve also seen it at RiteAid.

-Lime juice (make sure it’s freshly squeezed!)

-Agave (honey would probably work in a pinch)

Shake these ingredients with ice and enjoy! Cheers!

Cranberry Citrus Vodkarita

Ketel One Grapefruit and Rose Vodka, cranberry juice, lime, and agave get shaken to perfection with this simple but delicious "vodkarita" cocktail. This reminds me of a pomegranate margarita but with a twist.

Prep Time 5 minutes
Servings 1 drink

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 oz Ketel One Grapefuit and Rose Vodka
  • 1 1/2 oz Cranberry juice
  • 1 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 – 1 tbsp agave
  • 1 scoop ice

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a drink shaker and shake vigorously. Then pour into a glass and enjoy! Serve with a slice of lime, if desired.

Recipe Notes

1/2 tbsp agave still makes for a tart drink, so if you prefer it on the sweeter side use 1 tbsp.
